Meet the Creator
Meet Donna,
The Lucky Woman.
Meet Donna, the founder of The Lucky Woman Brand — a personal development philosophy for women 40+ ready to create their Second Act. Donna developed the Lucky Woman Philosophy while reinventing her own second chapter lifestyle after age 50. She is an author, artist, and lyricist.
She also is married to a wonderful man, has 3 grown children and 10 grandchildren who she loves very much.
When asked why she wrote the Lucky Woman Philosophy, she said:
For much of my life, I followed a course that was largely uncharted. Like so many women, my years were filled with the natural progression of school, career, marriage, and motherhood. Then, one day, I realized there were more years behind me than those left ahead of me. I began to reflect. While my love for my husband, children, and grandchildren is absolute, I felt a quiet, unfulfilled longing. My life was a series of compromises and sacrifices made for the sake of others. I knew my story was not unique, but I found myself watching women who seemed to chart every detail of their existence with boldness and intention. I wondered: Were they just lucky? And if so, how could I become one of them?
A few unexpected twists in life eventually provided the space I needed to experiment. Through many hours of research, I gleaned every bit of information I could find and began crafting a formula, a blueprint to reinvent my life. Through small, deliberate moves, I began my transformation. I soon discovered it wasn't too late to live a life that was purposeful, exciting, and bold — all without abandoning 'the tribe' I love so dearly.
The transition to an empty nest and early retirement was bittersweet yet liberating. With the gift of time, I returned to the passions I had long ago placed on the back burner: painting and writing. For years, I had inhabited a persona defined by the needs of others — the "hostess," the "cook," the "people-pleaser." By the time the day was finished, there was simply no energy left for me. Using the principles outlined in this handbook, I began to inch away from that old identity. Today, I am an artist, an author, and a lyricist. I am still a wife, mother, and grandmother, but I am a far more fulfilled version of those roles.
A Note from Donna
The Lucky Woman philosophy is a psychological, science-based approach rooted in the principles of neuroplasticity, offering practical tools to retrain your subconscious mind and help create a positive lifestyle. However, as a Christian, I want to give glory to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. While the principles and exercises in this book focus specifically on our physical biology — our subconscious mind, in particular — I personally believe all things are possible through God, prayer, and worship. That journey of walking with God is a personal choice available to everyone who opens their heart to Him, and I encourage you to explore the Bible's teachings as part of your life reinvention. That said, the practices explained in these pages will remain focused on the science-based information recognized as the basic building blocks for retraining your mind.
"Change your mindset, change your life."
